Government to Take Action Against Inciters - Uhuru

President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent out a strong warning message to politicians who have been inciting and threatening the peace of the country as the General Election approaches.

Speaking in Mombasa after launching infrastructure projects, Kenyatta warned that the government would deal firmly with politicians who were inciting Kenyans to fight because of politics.

He challenged politicians to avoid insults and embrace mature politics that would give room for people to choose their leaders without coercion.

The Head of State maintained that the Jubilee Government was keen on implementing development projects and ensuring that all Kenyans live together in harmony.

“There is no need to risk the lives of Kenyans because of petty politics. We have no time to quarrel with anyone but to implement development projects which will uplift the lives of all Kenyans,” he said.

The President urged all political leaders to respect each other by selling their policies peacefully, adding that he would also do the same when seeking for votes.

At the same time, he warned Coastal residents against people who were out to disrupt existing peace and harmony, noting the region largely depended on tourism which cannot thrive in instability.

“My Government is implementing projects to bring long-lasting impact in the lives of all Kenyans, not cheap projects which fill the stomachs of a few,” he stated.

President Kenyatta was speaking shortly after being lectured by area governor Hassan Joho who accused the Head of State of commissioning and taking credit for Mombasa Storm Water Drainage Improvement Project Phase 2 which the government had not initiated.

The ODM Deputy party leader claimed that the Bamburi project was funded by World Bank in 2010 and boldly told Kenyatta to provide proof of any projects his administration had initiated in the County.

Joho lamented that the Government had neglected the people of Mombasa adding that since Mr Kenyatta was in the area, he ought to leave the locals in a better state.
