Governor Copies Uhuru's Leadership Style

Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has announced plans to run the county from different sub-counties in an attempt to take his government closer to the people.

His office will now operate from each of the eleven sub-counties on a rotational basis, in a move aimed at taking services closer to residents while dispersing political power and economic resources.

Governor Mbugua highlighted that the new system would enable his administration to sensitize people on the scope and mandate of the County Government adding that Nakuru residents will not longer have to travel to the headquarters to have their needs addressed.

“We will operate from temporary offices at Olenguruone for two days before moving to the neighbouring Kuresoi North next week. Between February and April, we shall spend at least two days in a week in each sub-county.” Mbugua stated.

According to the County Government, the outreach programme set to commence on February 17, is expected to run until the end of the year and will include all the wards.

The move resembles that of President Uhuru Kenyatta, who first announced that he would be running government from different State Lodges across the country.

Kenyatta made the announcement in January while in Mombasa, where he stayed for over a month issuing thousands of title deeds, commissioning and inspecting various projects besides holding meetings with the youth, business and political leaders.
