A headteacher was on Thursday jailed for 25 years after the court found him guilty of raping a 13-year old pupil for failing to finish her homework in Nakuru County.
Alex Otieno, owner and teacher of Starlet Academy, is said to have raped the young girl student in July 19, 2013 over homework.
Appearing before a Nakuru Court, the girl said "the teacher escorted me to his office after he found that I had not finished my homework. In his office he defiled me and warned me not to tell anyone".
She added: "My classmate asked me what was wrong but I was scared of telling her. I ended up telling her when we were leaving the school."
The classmate, who also testified in court, divulged that she forced her friend to tell the mother what had happened inside the headteacher's office after learning of the despicable act.
They both reported the issue to the girl's mother who immediately reported the matter to a nearby police station.
"My daughter came home and appeared shaken. When I enquired what had happened, the friend told her 'si useme'. She then told me that her teacher had defiled her," the mother told the court.
After reporting the incident, the mother was given a p3 form which was filled by a doctor at PGH hospital in Nakuru.
Senior Resident Magistrate Judicaster Nthuku, while handing the sentence, said the court was provided with enough evidence to prove Otieno had defiled the victim.
