Here are Prominent Persons Uhuru Appointed to Parastatals

President Uhuru Kenyatta has made a huge shake in the leadership of State Corporations to include big names in the Corporate industry.

In changes revealed on Sunday, Kenyatta named 350 appointees in a list that features media personalities, politicians, key figures among other persons who are expected to offer direction in state corporations.

Royal Media Services has received the lions share in the appointments, following the appointment of 3 persons from the company. They include CEO Wachira Waruru (Kenya Cultural Centre Council Board), Farida Karoney (Kenya Institute of Mass Communication Board), TV Presenter Julie Gichuru (Brand Kenya Board).

Radio Africa's Caroline Mutoko has also been appointed as a director in the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication Board, while Athlete Paul Tergat was appointed to the Brand Kenya Board.

Other key figures are Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore and KCB CEO Joshua Oigara both appointed to the Kenya Vision 2030 Delivery Board. Billionare Chris Kirubi's daughter, Maryanne Kirubi has also gained from the appointments.

Kenya Breweries director Eric Kiniti, filmmaker Alison Ngibuini, thespian Ted Muthusi and the father of the famous Moipei sisters, Nicholas ole Moipei were all appointed to the (Kenya Cultural Centre Council Board)


Politicians appointed include; former MPs Bifwoli Wakoli (Kenya Water Towers Agency), Wycliffe Osundwa (Kenya Institute of Mass Communication), Simon Mbugua (NGO Coordination Board) and Dickson Wathika (Athi Water Services Board). The widow of former assistant minister Orwa Ojode, Mary Okeyo-Ojode, has been named to the Lake Basin Development Authority Act board.

This comes as the latest set of changes geared towards streamlining performance in the parastatals to match the objectives of the Jubilee government. More changes are anticipated.
