Homa Bay Aspiring Governor Magwanga Warns Cyprian Awiti

The race to the August 8 General Election is slowly shaping up with politicians going to unexpected quarters to get support from the voters.

In Homabay, the battle to replace the incumbent governor has become so heated that sitting positions in public rallies have become campaign tools.

An aspirant for the Homabay Gubernatorial position, Oyugi Magwanga has now accused the incumbent, Cyprian Awiti of always sitting next to ODM leader Raila Odinga whenever there is a public event as a ploy of confusing residents who adore the former Prime Minister.

Magwanga has now warned Awiti against sitting next to Odinga if and when he visits the county.

“Governor Awiti has perfected the art of sitting next to Raila at every public rally and this is meant to confuse residents because he knows he has completely failed. Let him be warned to keep off from Raila’s coat,” Magwanga stated.

Magwanga at the same time asked residents to come out and register in large numbers ahead of the August 8 General Election.

The Homabay gubernatorial race has split Raila's close allies - ODM Chairman, John Mbadi (Suba MP) and county Chair Gladys Wanga. Mbadi is supporting Awiti while Ms Wanga who is the area Women Representative, is vouching for Magwanga.
