An ODM Member of Parliament (MP) on Thursday vowed to defy Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery's order not to visit his office.
Laikipia North MP Mathew Lempurkel was banned from visiting Harambee House after a physical confrontation with nominated MP Sarah Korere on Monday.
However, after being released on a Sh300,000 cash bail on Thursday, Lempurkel blamed the CS for his arrest stating that he will visit the office by all means.
The legislator was first arrested on Tuesday and spent the night at Kileleshwa police station after the female MP claimed he had assaulted her at Nkaissery's office.
More drama unfolded on Wednesday when Lempurkel appeared at a Nairobi court to answer to the assault charges.
Minutes after the MP was released, he was re-arrested, his mobile phones confiscated before he was taken to an unknown location by police officers.
This caused a section of ODM MPs to protest outside Parliament buildings demanding his release and the arrest of Korere claiming that both of them had broken the law.
The MP appeared before a Nanyuki court on Thursday where he answered to charges of assault and incitement.
Lempurkel denied the charges and was released on a bond of Sh500,000 or a cash bail of Sh300,000.
The Opposition has accused the government of applying the law indiscriminately questioning why the female MP was not arrested yet they were both involved in the confrontation.
