I Will Support Ruto in 2022 General Election - Uhuru Says

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday assured Deputy President William Ruto that he would support him in 2022 General Election.

Speaking during a rally in Kericho, Kenyatta dismissed claims of wrangles in Jubilee urging Rift Valley residents to back the ruling coalition in 2017 Elections.

“I appeal to Rift Valley residents to vote for Jubilee in the 2017 General Election. There is no power struggle in Jubilee and I assure Rift Valley residents that I will support my brother Ruto to take over from me in the 2022 General Election,” the Head of Sate affirmed.

Speculations have been rife in Jubilee that Kenyatta would not back Ruto in 2022 if he is re-elected in 2017 Elections.

A section of leaders have claimed that Nairobi Gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth is being groomed for Presidency in 2022, claims leaders from Central have vehemently denied.

On the other hand, leaders from Central have maintained that they will back Ruto for Presidency in 2022 Elections.

The President was accompanied by his deputy as they launched road construction projects in different counties in the region.

Ruto assured residents that Jubilee would continue to implement development projects that would transform their lives.

“Kericho residents belong to Jubilee Party, there is no room for any other party here such as Naswa or ODM. They will stick to JP because it’s the party they believe in and don’t want to gabble with their political lives,” Ruto stated.
