Jubilee Heads To Ukambani to Strategize on President Uhuru Kenyatta's Re-election

The ruling Jubilee party has taken the hunt for votes right at Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s doorstep days after the National Super Alliance (NASA) announced its flag bearer on Thursday last week.

According to sources, President Uhuru Kenyatta is headed to Kalonzo’s backyard of Ukambani to strategize on his re-election bid.

President Kenyatta is reportedly expected to meet a group of civil servants, professionals, and businessmen from Ukambani region on Thursday this coming week.

Insiders privy to the details revealed that President Kenyatta would use the meeting to review his re-election strategy and evaluate the chances of slicing more votes for Jubilee from the Wiper perceived stronghold.

One of the team leaders Joe Kithyaka noted that the meeting scheduled for Thursday would seek to target over 300,000 votes for Jubilee across the three Ukambani counties.

He pointed out that the ruling party and supporters wanted to take advantage of the disquiet in the region after Musyoka failed to clinch the NASA presidential ticket that went to Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader and co-principal, Raila Odinga.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour of the Ukamabani region comes hot on the heels of the naming of Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka as the NASA presidential running mate at Uhuru Park in what some members claimed was a slap in the face of a similar 2013 MoU with Raila.
