Jubilee Now Wants to Kick CORD out of Mombasa

Members of Jubilee Alliance Party(JAP) have been asked to present a united front in order to weaken the hold CORD has in Mombasa.

Speaking at Tononoka Social Hall on Sunday, JAP Coordinator Farid Swaleh urged both founder members and those who defected from other parties to unite in order to challenge CORD's political strength in the region.

"I wish to challenge the JAP fraternity to up their game ahead of the 2017 elections so that we can oust the opposition in Mombasa County. Without unity, we are bound to fail," he said.

Supporting his statement was JAP's interim Chairman Ali Mwatsahu who said that they had to unite if they hoped to succeed against CORD in the 2017 General Election.

"We need time to build up JAP and make it inclusive to all tribes. We want genuine membership and not those with intentions to destroy it. We are recruiting members before conducting our elections," Mwatsahu explained.

Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday said that the Opposition was not ready to compete with Jubilee come the next elections.

“We already have a presidential candidate in Uhuru Kenyatta and Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP). The opposition cannot be trusted with the leadership since they do not even have a party nor a candidate,” Ruto said.
