Julie Gichuru Responds to Social Media Attacks

Former Citizen TV anchor Julie Gichuru Tuesday came under fierce attack on social media, after her betting company mCHEZA was put on the spot for paying gamers low bonuses.

Ms Gichuru, who is the mCHEZA owner, was also lashed for allowing gambling to bloom in the country yet she is considered to be a public figure.

A hash tag dubbed #FallOfJulieGichuru trended on social media tainting her image.

Vocal personalities on the internet including Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi accused Gichuru of being a partaker of her father-in-law's corrupt deals.

Mwangi faulted Gichuru for being silent on corruption scandals in Kenya even while she was a practising journalist.

“Ever heard Julie Gichuru condemning corruption? She lives in a glass house. Her father is wanted in Jersey, her husband is suing Robert Alai. Samuel Gichuru won't be buried with what he stole from Kenya. He destroyed lives & our economy. Gichuru's (Julie etc) will inherit stolen loot,” Mwangi emphatically stated.

Mrs Gichuru, however, did not cower in the middle of the pelting accusations but responded stating: “Nimezoea hawa watu wa chuki, uongo na domo (I am used to haters, liars with empty talks)".

"When they try to knock you, He lifts you up. The more they hate, the more love you receive," Mrs Gichuru added.

This she remarked after a hash tag #IStandWithJulieGichuru was started to support her.
