Junet Mohammed Dismisses Jubilee IEBC Figures, Says NASA is Leading

The ODM Party has now claimed that the Opposition has been leading in the registration of new voters despite contradicting reports from the IEBC and the media.

The party's Director of Elections and Suna East MP Junet Mohammed has claimed that the truth on new voter registration voters can only be reflected through the numbers posted per constituency, adding that the National Super Alliance Alliance (NASA) has been leading on that front.

He added that NASA has not been hyping their numbers to ensure their supporters do not get comfortable and fail to register.

The vocal legislator further claimed that the Jubilee coalition is aware of their imminent loss, alleging that they have been desperate in their campaigns to boost the number of new voters.

“The truth of which regions are facing acute voter crisis is no longer a matter of conjecture or speculations, considering the desperate low Jubilee leaders have sunk while whipping their voters to register,” Junet said.

Mohammed stated that Jubilee had failed to excite their supporters given that their message of scaring their supporters against an Odinga presidency had become monotonous.

“The whole government has stopped working as the President and Deputy President, the whole Cabinet, principal secretaries, parastatal heads and security forces descend on forgotten villages to scout for non-existent 'numbers',” he stated.

According to the interim registration numbers from the IEBC, Central registered a record 318,457 voters, 62.2 percent of the IEBC target.

Rift Valley, on the other hand, registered 497,313 voters. This translates to 58.7 percent.

Eastern, Nyanza, Coast and Western registered 348,977, 248,390 and 185,683 respectively.
