Kajiado Senator Peter Ole Mositet Leaves Jubilee Blames Deputy President William Ruto for Nominations Loss

Kajiado Senator Peter Ole Mositet on Friday announced that he had defected from the Jubilee Party blaming Deputy President William Ruto and Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaiserry for his loss in the nominations that were held on Wednesday.

The Senator lost his bid for re-election after gathering 52,022 with the victorious candidate, Philip Mpaayei having secured 62,077.

"I blame Deputy President William Ruto for messing up with Kajiado Jubilee party primaries which led me to lose in the nominations," the Senator lamented.

The disgruntled Mositet told journalists that the DP had handpicked candidates and the same candidates emerged as winners.

"I want to tell him that he won't handpick a leader on behalf of the constituents. The primaries were completely unfair," he added.

The politician claimed that his efforts to verify the final tallying results from the presiding officers had been unsuccessful which led him to believe that an underhand scheme was at play.

"If DP Ruto won't stop meddling in Kajiado politics then I won't hesitate to galvanise members of the Maa community against his 2022 presidential bid," he threatened.

Senator Mositet defected alongside former Kenya Meat Commission Chairman Taraiya Ole Kores who lost the gubernatorial bid to former Interior CS Joseph Ole Lenku.
