Kenyan MPs' Wives New Role

Members' of parliament wives are set to take up a new role of national cohesion and peace building.

The women have been attending a two day workshop and will now embark on using their influence, in their constituencies to promote national unity and cohesion.

First lady Margaret Kenyatta who officiated the workshop which ends today has encouraged the women to take up more leadership roles.

The Mp's wives have formed a new association called the National Assembly Lady Spouses Association of Kenya(NALSA) that will help them meet their objectives.

The event held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) was organized by the Directorate of National Cohesion and National Values, under the Ministry of Interior and Co-ordination of National Government.
