As the August 8 General Election approaches, several Kenyan musicians, actors, media personalities and renown celebrities have shifted gears from entartainment and joined politics.
Notable celebrities who have expressed their interests in joining politics include Francis Hamisi alias Frasha who has expressed his interest in vying for Athi River Township Ward Representative on a Maendeleo Chap Chap ticket.
Gakau Kabochi popularly known as DJ Kaytrixx on his part has expressed interest in the Mikindani Ward seat in Mombasa County but is yet to announce the party he will use.
Popular Nairobi businessman Steve Mbogo is also set to vie for Starehe Parliamentary seat on an Orange Democratic Movement(ODM) ticket.
Mbogo will face off with popular musician Charles Njagua Kanyi alias Jaguar who has been running his campaign as he prepares to battle it out with incumbent MP Maina Kamanda for the Jubilee Party ticket.
