The move by Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to announce KCPE exam results on Thursday caught many Kenyans by surprise even though such impromptu moves have become his trademark style.
Among those who were caught by surprise included key stakeholders including KNUT Secretary-General Wilson Sossion who stated that he only came to know of the results' announcement on Thursday morning.
Sossion, however, congratulated the CS adding that prompt release of examination results is a best practice in the education sector.
Kenyans on social media were not left behind as they congratulated the CS for his exemplary supervision of the national examinations.
CS Matiang'i reminds one of that teacher who used to mark exam scripts overnight, when others would 'mark' for a whole month. #KCPE2016
