Kiharu Member of Parliament Irungu Kang’ata Proposes Peter Kenneth as Deputy President William Ruto Runningmate

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth has been proposed as Deputy President William Ruto's running mate in the 2022 presidential race.

Speaking at Murang’a Teachers College, Kiharu Member of Parliament (MP) Irungu Kang'ata disclosed that Mr Kenneth was the best candidate to deputise Ruto in his quest for the presidency.

Kang’ata revealed that after President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term, residents of Murang’a County will rally their support behind Kenneth to get the DP’s seat come the 2022 General Election.

“Right after President Uhuru Kenyatta, we shall support Ruto for the presidency and Kenneth as his deputy, which is already a concluded matter,” said Kang’ata.

The MP noted that with Ruto at the helm, Kenneth offered a better choice to be his deputy in order to garner support across the country.

The legislator observed that Kenneth - a former MP and assistant minister - was likely to get support from the entire country owing to his vast experience and ability to transform the country.

Mr Kang'ata stated that the former Gatanga legislator currently enjoys vast support from the region and offers the best choice to unseat Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero come August.

Kenneth, however, has to contend with other Jubilee candidates including Senator Mike Sonko who is also eyeing Kidero’s seat.

The party is reportedly planning to unite the two on a joint ticket to avoid splitting the electorate and provide space for their opponent, Kidero, to sail through.
