Kiraitu Murungi Says He Would be a Sweeper than Have a Big Title in NASA

Meru Senator Kiraitu Murungi, who is also an official in President Uhuru Kenyatta's campaign team in the Meru region, has responded to requests made Opposition leaders that he joins NASA.

Led by ODM leader Raila Odinga, the NASA team had asked Murungi to read the mood on the ground and support the comrades with whom he fought the second liberation.

However, the Meru Senator poured cold water on the requests, claiming that he would rather be a sweeper than have a big title in the Opposition."

I know how it feels to be in the Opposition," Murungi added.

The founding Jubilee Chairman added elders from his Meru community have complained about neglect by the government but reminded them that the President was still mindful of their welfare.

He was addressing school heads in his county where he also pleaded with them to be ambassadors of President Kenyatta's reelection.

Kiraitu's sentiments come a day after Meru Governor Peter Munya rejected Raila's call that he works closely with the NASA team.
