Kitui Senator David Musila in Mourning After Losing Family Member

Kitui Senator David Musila is in mourning after losing his mother Mama Alice Kavwea Musila who was 95 years old at the time of her death.

Mama Kavwea passed on at the Nairobi Hospital on Sunday after what family members described as complications related to old age.

"She was around 95 years old and was suffering from complications related to old age. She was admitted to the hospital about four weeks ago," explained Aaron Musila, the Senator's son.

Senator Musila recently suffered a major loss in his bid for Kitui governorship after incumbent Governor, Julius Malombe won the nomination with 88,382 votes against his 74,308 votes.

Mr Musila soon after left the Wiper party where he was National Chairman accusing the party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, of orchestrating his bitter loss.

"The Party Leader ordered results that were compiled by my opponent to be announced at Kitui tallying centre without reference to the National Elections Board officials who fled Kitui town due to insecurity.

"The nomination perfectly follows a trend established in Makueni and Machakos where the party leader has decided who should be gubernatorial flag bearer without consideration of the wishes of the electorate in the respective counties," he lamented.
