Lupita Nyong'o Endorses Her Father and asks Kisumu to Vote Anyang' Nyong'o as Next Governor

Kenyan-born actress Lupita Nyong'o on Thursday evening sent a video message endorsing her father's political bid and urging Kisumu residents to vote Prof Anyang' Nyong'o for Kisumu Governorship.

Lupita explained that she would not be in Kenya personally as she is working on a new movie but assured residents of Kisumu County that her father had her full support.

The Oscar award winner noted that her father was a development conscience leader and therefore the best bet for Kisumu governorship.

"I have witnessed the developments, the electricity spreading, schools being built, roads being constructed and medical centres being erected, and you had a lot to do with that.

"I know for certain that Kisumu County will be a better place and leap into the future with you steering it,” Lupita stated.

The actress stated that with her professor dad as governor, the arts industry would thrive as he was passionate about art.

"I want Kisumu to shine in the world as much as you do and I for one will be excited that with you as governor, Kisumu can become a centre of excellence for the arts, because you love the arts and culture,” the actress stated.

The award-winning actress stated that she looks forward to seeing Kisumu grow into a centre of excellence, and tipped his dad Nyong'o as the best driver to take it there.

Prof Nyong'o is seeking to be the next governor of Kisumu county and will battle it out with incumbent Jack Ranguma in next week's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party nominations.
