A man appearing in court on Wednesday to answer to charges of theft, shocked the courtroom when he took the stand with only a shirt on.
Geoffrey Kipchumba, who was accused of stealing two trousers from Murkomen Kipkemoi on October 10, claimed that the pair of trousers he was wearing was also part of the exhibit so he stripped.
The man who spoke while pulling his long shirt down, denied the charges before resident Magistrate Hezron Nyaberi in Iten, Elgeyo-Marakwet County.
The court heard that Mr Kipchumba broke into the defendant's house, at Sokobora Trading Centre, and stole the trousers which were valued at Sh1,850 each before taking off.
His case will be heard on December 3.
