A man in Molo, Nakuru County was almost lynched by angry residents after he stabbed his daughter on the head in a fit of rage.
The class three girl is currently admitted in hospital after her father attacked her for allegedly not having done her homework.
The girls mother identified as Jacqueline Otieno by Citizen Tv said she was not at home when the incident happened but that it was not the first time her husband was assaulting her or her daughter.
The angry residents baying for the man's blood condemned the inhumane act and said that they had witnessed many occasions when the man mistreated his family.
They added that the wife had in many occasions cowered from confronting her husband or reporting the abuse to the authorities.
Police came to the rescue of the man, taking him to the police station. He will be arraigned in court to answer to charges of assault and child abuse related charges.
The girl is reportedly recovering well in Molo District Hospital.
