Residents of Mororo slums in Madogo Division, Tana River County, were treated to a dramatic scene on Sunday, when a man was slashed off his right ear after he was found in bed with another man's wife.
Mwaniki Mate, who is said to have been away for work, made an unexpected return home where he found his wife in bed with the unnamed man.
On sensing danger, his wife is said to have fled leaving the two men in the house fighting. Neighbours who heard cries coming from the house, reportedly rushed to the scene and forced their way in only to find the man with his ear chopped off.
Mate is said to have been arrested and taken to the area Assistant Chief, Mohammed Loka.
While confirming the incident, Loka accused young ladies of keeping multiple men so they could maintain their wayward lifestyles, the Star reports.
The sentiments were reiterated by one of the witnesses, Mr Yussuf, who blamed married women in the area of concealing their marital status.
“Married women nowadays hide their status. If you are married let it be known, and be faithful to avoid such shameful acts," he said.
Barely a week ago, a man was killed in Bungoma County after he was caught having sex with someone's wife. Simon Wafula is said to have been beaten to death after being busted in the matrimonial bed with the wife of William Mariskuot, who later on turned himself in.
