Martha Karua Rejects Uhuru Kenyatta's Request to Dissolve Narc Kenya

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua has broken her silence on the drama that resulted during President Uhuru Kenyatta’s tour of Kirinyaga on Tuesday.

Karua denied media reports that she had walked out on the President and insisted that she stayed on the convoy and even joined Kenyatta in his Murang’a tour.

"Today I stayed whole tour, allegations of walking out are false!" she tweeted.

"Falsehood I stayed whole tour and even accompanied him (Uhuru) to Murang'a!" Karua added in a subsequent tweet.

The flower party leader was responding to an article written by a blog, NairobiNews, that claimed the former Justice Minister had staged a dramatic walkout after being booed during one of the President’s roadside rallies.

Through her Twitter account, Karua also responded to a section of her supporters who called on her to dissolve her party and compete for the Kirinyaga gubernatorial seat on a Jubilee ticket.

The gubernatorial candidate called on Jubilee to respect her stand adding that she would continue championing for multiparty democracy.

The former Presidential contender has recently been under pressure from her constituency to be categorical in her support for President Kenyatta’s re-election.

On Tuesday, Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto called on Karua to fold her party if she was interested in working with the Jubilee team.
