Meet Uhuru's Youngest Principal Secretary

The recent cabinet reshuffle by President Uhuru Kenyatta brought new faces to the Executive, with the nomination of Wilson Nyakera Irungu as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Transport being a key highlight.

If approved by the National Assembly, Mr Nyakera will be youngest Principal Secretary at 33 years.

The nominated PS was recently listed amongst the Top 40 Men Under 40 during an awards gala night held at the Windsor Golf and Country Club on Friday, 

Nyakera is currently the Managing Director of Equity Investment Bank, a position he was appointed in July 2014 and has been named as a possible successor of current Equity CEO Dr James Mwangi.

He has also been General Manager and Managing Director of NIC Capital Ltd.

Mr Nyakera is an old boy of Starehe Boys' Centre, where he completed his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination in 2000.

He holds a Diploma in Management Information Systems and a bachelor's degree in Management Science Engineering from Stanford University in California, United States.

Kenyatta's nominees now await approval by Parliament, before officially assuming office.
