Former President Daniel Moi was admitted at the Agha Khan Hospital on Friday where he underwent a knee surgery.
According to his spokesman Lee Njiru, Moi underwent the surgery to relieve pain that had been troubling him for some time now.
"After the procedure, performed under local anaesthesia, a hail and hearty Mzee Moi was discharged and is recuperating at his residence," Njiru stated.
Mr Lee divulged that Moi was discharged on the same day and was currently recuperating at his home in Nairobi.
The former President has been out of the public limelight until recently when he met Mama Ngina Kenyatta, President Uhuru Kenyatta’s mother.
After the meeting, Mama Ngina refused to divulge details of the meeting only stating that she had gone to visit a friend.
On the other hand, Moi said he was happy to meet Mama Ngina.
