Mombasa Communications Director Richard Chacha Reveals Joho's Plan After Clash With Uhuru

Two days after President Uhuru Kenyatta openly humiliated Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho by preventing him from attending the Mtongwe Ferry re-launch, the County boss has planned a major comeback.

According to Joho’s Communications Director Richard Chacha, the Mombasa Governor will respond to all allegations made against him by Uhuru in a grand rally at Tononoka grounds.

Governor Joho together with the four NASA principals – Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula – are planning a six-day tour where they will hold different rallies in the coastal region with an aim to prove that the Coast is an Opposition stronghold.

The tour will kick off in Taita Taveta on March 20th and end on March 26th at the Tononoka Grounds where the leaders will hold a mega rally.

On Monday, the President put Mr Joho on the spot accusing him of failing to develop Mombasa County despite having received Sh40 Billion in national disbursement since the onset of devolution.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Joho unveiled documents showing that his county had only received Sh16.4 Billion and not the Sh40 Billion claimed by Uhuru.

The Governor went ahead to demand that the National Treasury hands his county the pending Sh23.6 Billion which he said would help solve urgent development challenges.

At the same time, the Mombasa Governor claimed that he was now living in fear following "direct threats" issued by President Kenyatta during a rally on Monday.

During the said rally, Uhuru stated: "Mwambieni asituchezee...sisi tutamnyorosha (tell him [Joho] not to joke with us... we’ll deal with him)."

According to Joho, such remarks by the President could mean anything and he was unsure of what could happen.
