Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi disclosed that President Uhuru Kenyata once admitted that he was not good enough to be the Head of State.
Speaking during a television interview, Mudavadi claimed that after the March 2013 General Election, Kenyatta apparently confessed that the ANC leader should have been the President and not him.
“Uhuru told me he was not competent enough to run the government and that they wanted me to be the candidate,” said Mudavadi.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) leader claimed that the confession had come to pass due to the numerous challenges facing the Jubilee government.
"And it has come to pass that indeed UhuRuto are incompetent," he stated.
Mudavadi divulged that before the 2013 polls, Kenyatta, his deputy William Ruto and other leaders had endorsed him to be the Jubilee Presidential candidate only for them to betray him two weeks later.
He added that he had learnt a lesson from that experience and would not allow the same to happen in the upcoming polls.
“I have learnt the hard way, through deceit and backstabbing. This time I want to see decency restored in our politics," he affirmed.
