The Nairobi Police department has issued an alert over a gang that has been terrorising City residents especially motorists and people leaving banks.
The gang, which is said to be operating under the guise of being police officers with a walkie-talkie and handcuffs, has been trailing people after withdrawing money from banks.
Reports indicate that the robbers, who operate from a hideout in Dandora, waylay their victims, rob and dump them in different locations.
On Wednesday, the same gang reportedly made away with Sh 300,000 from one Paula Lomosi shortly after he withdrew the money from a city bank.
The victim is said to have been alighting a matatu in South B when four armed robbers accosted him and forced him into a drive away vehicle.
They then made away with the money and dumped him in Dagoretti area before escaping.
