The National Super Alliance (NASA) has announced the day the Opposition flag bearer will be announced.
NASA Coordinating Committee Chairman James Orengo revealed that its candidate would be named after the four principals complete a three-day retreat from April 17 to 19.
Speaking after the Committee, tasked with giving recommendations over the issue, handed its final report, Orengo stated that the quartet would discuss the report after which their decision would be made public.
“Whatever they decide, will then be communicated as a final decision of the movement that can be said to the public,” he disclosed.
The 12-man team submitted the report to the principals which is based on the findings of another technical committee that was assessing the suitability of the candidates.
The announcement was made just hours after reports emerged that the technical committee had selected ODM leader Raila Odinga to be the presidential candidate with his Wiper counterpart Kalonzo Musyoka as the deputy.
According to the speculations, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi would become the country's Chief Minister, a position the Alliance plans to create if it forms the next government, while Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula would be the National Assembly Speaker.
However, ANC officials have dismissed the reports as propaganda maintaining that no agreement had been reached regarding the matter.
