NASA Rejects Progressive Party of Kenya (PPK) Delegate Esther Aleyo for Meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta

Progressive Party of Kenya (PPK) national women leader Esther Aleyo has been rejected by members of the party after she reportedly attended a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House two weeks ago.

Ms Aleyo accused members of the party, which supports the National Super Alliance (NASA), of roughing her up for what they termed embarrassing the Opposition.

The delegate, who is a senior member of PPK on Wednesday camped at the Party headquarters after she was locked out of the premises.

The woman bewailed the events urging Kenyatta to rescue her from the party supporters.

She remained at the gate for hours and shouted: "Uhuru amenizalia njaa (Visiting Uhuru has caused me hunger)."

Aleyo was part of a delegation from the Bunyore community which paid a courtesy call to President Kenyatta.

The meeting was later heavily criticised by Vihiga County Governor Moses Akaranga who leads the party.

Following the criticism, Aleyo is said to have gone into hiding and only resurfaced to hold a protest outside Akaranga's offices where she threatened to strip naked after being roughed up by a section of PPK followers.

"She has really embarrassed our party. Despite being a very senior official, she sneaked and went to State House," one supporter stated.
