NASA Technical Committe Resolves Candidate Should be Picked Through Popular Vote

The National Super Alliance(NASA), has been forced to make a final decision on the method to be used in picking their Presidential candidate after talks collapsed during the weekend.

The Standard reported that the technical committee will on Tuesday announce that the nominations should be done through primaries where the candidate who has the majority of votes will be the automatic flagbearer.

Efforts to pick the line up through a compromise process proved futile after some of the members of the technical committee refused the possibility of ODM leader Raila Odinga being picked as the Presidential candidate.

The technical committee, co-chaired by Siaya Senator James Orengo and his Machakos counterpart Johnson Muthama, will hand-over its recommendation to the four NASA principals for implementation.

The Daily Nation had earlier reported its sources intimating that an MP allied to the Wiper Party had played a key role in frustrating the talks by constantly disagreeing with resolutions of the committee.

“The situation is getting desperate as we are constantly distracted by one MP from Eastern Province who has apparently adopted a hard-line stance on everything. We are not agreeing on anything,” one of the MPs stated.

The committee, which also had the support of top experts including Oxford-educated economist Dr. David Ndii, was also unable to agree on the nominations formula for the other positions aside from the Presidency.
