Nyanza Regional Coordinator Wilson Njenga Vows to Block ODM Politicians in Migori Chaos From Elections

Nyanza Regional Coordinator Wilson Njenga on Wednesday told journalists that the police would ensure ODM Party politicians who were involved in the Migori rally chaos would not vie in the upcoming August polls.

Mr Njenga indicated that the politicians still faced charges of inciting violence despite the investigations carried out by the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Disciplinary Committee.

Leaders who face charges are Governor Okoth Obado and Suna East Member of Parliament Junet Mohammed.

"We allowed ODM to carry out their investigations first and immediately the leaders were back to the region they recorded statements with us. Just like in Homa Bay we will ensure they are charged in court," Njenga emphasised.

The police boss noted that the two politicians had already recorded statements and investigations were ongoing.

The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Keriako Tobiko also directed deeper investigations be carried out into the matter.

Other politicians under police investigation are former Migori MP John Pesa, Kisumu Senator Anyang' Nyong'o, Siaya Senator James Orengo, former Assistant Minister Ochilo Ayako and Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, who was acquitted by the ODM Disciplinary Committee.
