VIDEO: ODM MP Dramatically Arrested After TV Interview

Police Officers on Tuesday morning intercepted Suna East MP Junet Mohamed at Nation Centre along Kimathi Street in Nairobi.

Breaking the news on his Twitter handle, Mohamed said that flying squad officers had surrounded his vehicle at the media house premises.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, the legislator stated that he was holed up at the Nation Media Group offices where he had gone for a morning interview and was waiting for his lawyer to arrive.

"They are outside in big numbers and have surrounded the building. I am waiting for my lawyer to come," Mohamed stated.

The lawmaker was later arrested after his lawyer Siaya Senator James Orengo arrived at the scene and taken to Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters.

He was, however, not taken to the DCI offices by the police as the ODM leaders blocked the officers.

The ODM director of elections was on Monday summoned by police together with 3 other party leaders over hateful remarks during a press conference but failed to appear at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters.

The leaders, who were reacting on Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria utterance that called for the "assassination" of CORD leader Raila Odinga stated that they were ready to defend the former Prime Minister.
