The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has nominated activist Japhet Muriira Muroko, the man credited for the famous phrase #BabaWhileYouWereAWay', for a top job in East Africa.
The party submitted Muroko's name as one of the ODM nominees to the East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) in Arusha, Tanzania.
Reports by a local daily indicate that Muroko's nomination was received in the National Assembly on Thursday 4th May 2017.
The Activist's nomination will now be debated by the National Assembly and the Senate who will then vote for or against the nomination.
If voted for, Mr Muroko will be among the five ODM nominees to represent the country in EALA.
The National Assembly is expected to issue its verdict before 4th June since the current EALA members' term in office expires in June 2017.
The activist came to the limelight in 2015 after he coined the phrase baba while you were away which later turned to a hashtag that was used to pass messages of what happened in the country when former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was on a trip to the US at the time.
