The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has cautioned Kenyans about a man purporting to be the party's official with an intention of conning unsuspecting victims.
ODM Communications director Philip Etale, through his Facebook timeline, raised an alarm about one Dan Mutai who claims to work as an executive officer at Orange House.
Mutai is said to have been sending messages to unsuspecting Kenyans claiming to be in a position to recruit them as party agents who will be earning Sh1600 per day.
According to the warning message from ODM, the suspect first entices his victims alleging that he has a channel named ODM news channel.
Mutai, according to Etale's message, promises to pay Kenyans for sharing the channel's link on Facebook, Telegram and WhatsApp in order to increase the membership.
“I will pay Sh50 for every share you do in a group. For instance, if you share in ten groups, you will earn Sh500. If you share in 100 groups, you will earn Sh5000, and so on. We will then confirm your shares through screenshots and organise your payment by the end of this week,” reads a message from the alleged con.
Etale cautioned ODM members to be aware of the man who has even given his mobile number promising his victims sweet money.
