Onyango Oloo to Face Charges After Leaving Jubilee

The government has vowed to take action against former TNA Secretary General (SG) Onyango Oloo a day after he ditched the Jubilee Party for ODM.

Devolution Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri on Thursday declared that the government would soon prosecute Oloo for corruption allegations against him.

According to Kiunjuri, investigations against the SG were almost complete and his file would be forwarded to the relevant authorities for appropriate action.

The CS reminded the former TNA official that just as he claimed to have files with secret details regarding Jubilee, he (Kiunjuri) equally had a file incriminating him.

“I want to remind Oloo that he has forgotten one file, a secret file that I have on him. He knows the mess he created. He (Oloo) can run but he is not going to hide. Already, he should be reminded his last workstation fell under my Ministry,” he said.

According to the Minister, the former Secretary-General, who has declared interest in the Kisumu Central Parliamentary seat, was running to hide behind his community after messing up during his tenure at the party.

Kiunjuri revealed that Oloo defected to ODM because of the corruption claims that marred his tenure as Chairman of the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA).

He cautioned that even if he had left the Jubilee camp, he would soon be facing action and might even find himself in jail.

“I just wanted to alert Kenyans that soon Onyango will have some questions to answer. He knows for sure after the investigations, he might be a candidate...he might belong to jail,” he added.
