Devolution Cabinet Secretary (CS) Mwangi Kiunjuri has now claimed that former TNA Secretary General Onyango Oloo defected to ODM because of the corruption claims that marred his tenure as Chairman of the Lake Basin Development Authority (LBDA).
Addressing the press on Wednesday, the CS alleged that many allegations had been levelled against Oloo stating that, "he [Oloo] could have resorted to switching camps so that when he is prosecuted he will resort to the tribal tag of defending himself.”
Mr Kiunjuri further challenged Mr Oloo to tell the country what he delivered while he was the Secretary-General of TNA.
On Wednesday, the former Secretary-General disclosed that he had cut links with the Jubilee Party after he realised that Kenyatta had "conned" TNA and ten other parties that merged to join the Jubilee Party.
He divulged that folding of the parties sucked life out of TNA which was formed to promote National Alliance.
"Little did I know that we were being led to a very vile and vicious political conmanship. Our TNA ideologies were carried into the Jubilee Merger but they have been thrust aside" Oloo stated.
The former staunch supporter of President Uhuru Kenyatta complained that "the Jubilee Party no longer stands for what TNA stood for."
In June 2016, President Kenyatta fired Oloo from the LBDA after the parastatal was marred by corruption scandals during his three-year tenure.
Prior to his sack, two top management officials at the Lake basin were sent home over misappropriation of funds in July 2015.
The President went ahead to appoint former Rarieda Member of Parliament (MP) Rapahel Tuju as the Chairman of LBDA. Later on, Tuju was appointed as the Head of the Jubilee Party secretariat while Oloo was not given any role.
