National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga over the weekend left the country for Jerusalem, and it was not immediately clear why he had flown to the Jewish Capital.
Mr Odinga's spokesman Dennis Onyango has, however, cleared the air stating that his boss had travelled to Israel to attend an International conference in the Jews city.
“Yes, he left the country. He had been invited to attend an international conference,” Onyango stated.
ODM Director of Elections who is also Member of Parliament for Suna East, Junet Mohammed stated that the former Prime Minister would be away for one week.
“He is attending a conference and will be back after one week to officially launch the NASA presidential campaign,” Junet stated.
On Monday, the ODM party leader released a statement from Jerusalem asking President Uhuru Kenyatta's government to come clean on the issues pitting the United States (US) government and Kenya's Ministry of Health.
Raila sent the statement after the US government through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) suspended Sh2.1 Billion funding to Afya House.
It is not the first time Mr Odinga is in the Jewish state to attend an international conference. Last year, he travelled to Jerusalem to attend the first-ever Africa-Israel Policy and Leadership conference.
