Peter Kenneth Presents Documents for Nairobi Gubernatorial Race to Jubilee Party

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth has made his first move in his bid to become the next county boss in the August 8 General Election.

Kenneth on Wednesday submitted his papers to the Jubilee Party (JP) in preparation for the nominations which are slated for April.

Flanked by other Nairobi leaders including Women representative Rachael Shebesh, Starehe MP Maina Kamanda and Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan, Kenneth presented the documents to Head of the Jubilee Secretariat Raphael Tuju at the party headquarters in Pangani.

Addressing the media after the papers were accepted, the former Gatanga lawmaker stated that he was ready to face his competitors, Team Nairobi, led by Senator Mike Sonko, MPs Dennis Waweru (Dagoretti South), Johnson Sakaja (nominated) and former Starehe legislator Margaret Wanjiru,  who are also interested in the seat.

This could seemingly complicate Jubilee's efforts of coming up with an agreeable candidate to face incumbent Governor Evans Kidero considering the pro-Kenneth and Sonko groups have been in fierce wrangles and are all seeking the same ticket.

The party had earlier indicated that it would unveil a team comprising of religious leaders and business people to help oversee the process of picking its Nairobi candidate through consensus.
