Staff at Maseno University in Kisumu County woke up to a rude shock on Thursday, after the Campus administration offices were burnt down by unknown assailants.
The Finance, Registry, Dean of Students' and Sentry offices were razed to the ground on Wednesday night by an inferno that lasted the whole night.
Police at the scene stated that the arson could have been started by angry students especially with the Students' Union elections in the offing.
Some students are also reported to have complained of missing marks ahead of the Graduation Ceremony at the end of the year.
The police have launched investigations into the matter with no casualities reported.
Students on the ground have termed the fire as “massive” with a possiblity of paralysing learning in the institution.
