Embarrassing pictures have been shared online showing patients at the Kakamega General Hospital sleeping on cut-out carton boxes.
Kakamega's first lady Priscilla Oparanya visited the hospital on Monday only to find the patients being kept in deplorable conditions and complaining of lack of medicine and beddings.
This comes just a few days after photos emerged online showing patients in Wajir county being treated under trees and in makeshift huts

Over the last year, several counties have been heavily criticised for wastage of funds following outrageous purchases despite residents lacking basic needs like medical care.
Nyamira county allegedly spent Sh7.6 Million to construct a hospital gate even as the hospital lacked sufficient drugs and clean toilets. Kirinyaga county was also reported to have spent Sh1.2 Million to open a Facebook account while Bungoma county spent a whopping Sh1 Million to acquire ten wheelbarrows.
