PHOTOS: County Treating Patients Under Trees

The Wajir County Government has come under harsh criticism after photos surfaced online showing patients being treated under trees and in makeshift huts.

In the shocking images, patients are seen lying on mats while undergoing Intravenous (IV) treatment.

Kenyans took to social media to condemn the Wajir government over the deplorable conditions the patients were subjected to, while accusing the Governor of not carrying out his duties.

Some compared Wajir to Mandera County, pointing out that the latter has a fully equipped referral hospital.

Here are the photos courtesy of Twitter.

It's the corrupt government of Wajir that's making matter worse. The Governor is missing in action. @Iyyesa @Drosophila10 @Mawadatee

@Iyyesa In summary the leaders in Wajir have done nothing to help improve their health sector? Sad affair

Wajir's Governor  Ahmed Abdullahi took to his Facebook page to defend himself. He dismissed the allegations saying that the photos were nothing but "negative media campaigns" by his opponents.
