PHOTOS: Uhuru Was Stranded in Ghana

President Uhuru Kenyatta is reported to have suffered a protocol mishap while in Ghana, that left him stranded under a scorching sun for over 15 minutes.

According to a Ghanaian news outlet, after the close of the Country's Independence day celebrations, President Kenyatta and his Guinea-Bissau counterpart Mario Vaz were kept waiting for their vehicles, in an incident that was deemed embarrassing.

The  Website reported that Ex-Ghana President Jerry John Rawlings had to walk to Kenyatta to keep him company as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration Hannah Tetteh, embarked on saving the situation.

The news outlet cited that Mr Kenyatta's facial expression exuded "displeasure and disgust" before Rawlings walked up to him.

President Kenyatta was in the West African nation to celebrate its 59 years of independence alongside other heads of State.

Meanwhile, during the same fete on March 6, Kenyatta was mistakenly referred to as the Ghanaian President in the event's programme, causing a stir on social media.

Our attempts to reach the President's communication team on the matter did not bear fruit as our calls and text messages remained unanswered.
