PHOTOS: Wanyama and Olunga Upbeat For The Zambia Game

Harambee Stars Captain Victor Wanyama and on-form Striker Micheal Olunga have expressed confidence that Kenya can beat Zambia in Sunday's (today) African cup of Nations qualifier match.

Wanyama told NTV that despite the pressure the team has they were ready to fight and give fans all the points they deserved.

Olunga on the other hand admitted that Harambee Stars has had a drought in goal scoring but they are hope to pose different results against the Chipolopolo of Zambia.

“We will come out fully to attack the Zambians. It is not like the Congo game where we depended on counter attacks and did more defending,” said Olunga.

Kenya is up against the 2012 African Champions, Zambia who are reported to have been in the training camp longer than Kenya.

However, the Football Kenya Federation Vice President Robert Asembo said that they did their best despite their hands being tied with regards to the call-up of foreign-based players that is guided by FIFA rules.

The National Team's Coach Bobby Williamson has this time round recalled a number of players engaged abroad including goal keeper Arnold Origi and veteran Skipper Dennis Oliech among others to give the team a boost.

At the same time Stars opponents are looking forward to a tough match given that Kenya has the home advantage and has grown better overtime.

“It is a very difficult game for Zambia as well as Kenya. Kenya has improved a lot from the last time we played against them and we know the danger they poses,” said the President of Zambia Football Association, Kalusha Bwalia.

Kenya is now at the second place after Congo in Group E . A win in today's afternoon clash is likely to push them to the first position based on goal difference.

Kenya last qualified for the continental Cup in 2004 and is hungry for a spot in the coming tournament. Fans have been called upon to throng the Nyayo Stadium and support the team. The match kicks off at 4pm.
