Police Launch Manhunt For Missing "Doctor" Mugo Wa Wairimu

Police officers are now searching for Mugo wa Wairimu who reportedly went missing after a report aired on a national television unmasked his alleged heinous acts.

The report aired on Citizen TV showed Mr Mugo allegedly sedating and raping a female patient, at his unregistered Prestige Healthcare Clinic in Githurai 44.

The Footage secretly recorded by one of his employees showed Mugo taking advantage of a woman who appeared unconcious.

In the Citizen TV expose, another unidentified woman told of her suspicion that she had been raped by the man, masquarading as a doctor.

Residents stormed his office on Monday, threatening to burn down the clinic but were denied access by police officers who arrived at the scene.

Officials from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board on Monday said Mugo had never been licensed to practice medicine and that the regulator had ordered the closure of Mugo's clinic in June.

According to Citizen TV, one of Mugos's clinics in Zimmerman was still open and had its name changed after the report aired.

Following recomendations from the Director of Public Prosecutions and the Inspector General of Police, Kasarani Police Commander Robinson Mboloi has been instructed to arrest the suspect.

Mugo's whereabouts are unknown, however, he took to Facebook on Monday saying he was safe and that he would present himself to the police if required.

'I’m safe, very safe can’t answer hundreds of calls coming in per minute, I’m still well within the jurisdiction of our legal system. I’d not hesitate to present myself to the police if needed any minute, anytime,' he posted.
