A 16-year-old class eight pupil was on Thursday killed by her elder brother after being kicked her in the stomach in Bungoma County.
Abigail Wafula, who was pregnant, died as her family was struggling to get a motorcycle in order to rush her to the hospital.
Their father, Emmanuel Wafula, noted that the rivalry between the two started after the family discovered that the girl was pregnant.
"Kizito is usually highly tempered. We had warned him against fighting with his pregnant sister." Mr Wafula stated.
Following the unfortunate incident, the 29-year-old suspect, Kizito Wafula, surrendered to police officers at Siritayi police station.
Confirming the incident, area Assistant Chief Alfred Wefafa condemned the act adding that Kizito would be charged with murder.
The girl's body was taken to Bungoma County Referral Hospital mortuary.
