President Paul Kagame's "Insult" to Kenyan Journalist Angers Kenyans

Kenyans on Twitter have taken on Rwanda’s president Paul Kagame over a tweet he posted in response to a post directed to him by a Kenyan journalist.

Levi Kones tweeted President Kagame cautioning him on seeking another term in office.

The tweet reads, “I really hope sir, you will not ruin your legacy by being President for life.”

In response Kagame replied, “worry more about your own legacy ...if you got any at all to think about!!”

The remarks by Rwanda's President have sparked an online troll under the hashtag #SomeoneTellKagame

This comes amid heightened campaigns in Rwanda to amend the constitution capping the presidential term.

Parliamentarians in Rwanda have voted to support a change to the constitution that would allow President Paul Kagame to stand for a third term in 2017.

More than 3.7 million Rwandans signed a petition asking parliament to abandon two-term presidential limit - a change that will now be put to a referendum.
