President Uhuru Kenyatta to Lead Jubilee on a Visit to Opposition Chief Raila Odinga's Stronghold, Kisumu

The ruling Jubilee party has changed tact and launched a direct onslaught on opposition chief Raila Odinga’s stronghold of Kisumu.

Just a week after visiting Kisumu and announcing a Sh200 million allocation to get rid of the water hyacinth, President Uhuru Kenyatta will again visit the region on Tuesday.

According to State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu, the President is scheduled to visit the region to attend National Drama Festivals gala.

Esipisu stated that the President was reaching out to every corner of the country to see how government investments are impacting ordinary people.

“The bottom line is that the President understands the daily grind that our people go through even as he works to grow the economy. He feels them, as we’d say. He is working hard to improve lives,” said Esipisu.

A plan commented by Jubilee Party nominated Senator Joy Gwendo who revealed that they will convince the President to walk and talk to Kisumu residents.

Gwendo noted that the President will use the visit to tour the area and encourage them to maintain peace in the forthcoming elections

Sources privy to the trip alluded to the fact that the Jubilee party was seeking to make inroads in Kisumu after his tour of Kisii and Nyamira Counties.
