Radio Journalist Missing for Two Months

Family and friends are looking for a radio journalist from Naivasha who has been missing since December 12 last year, leaving them worried sick about him.

Jack Marwa, a Hope FM correspondent, was last spotted covering Jamhuri Day celebrations at Kihoto grounds, before he went missing and his phone going off the same day.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke on Tuesday, Marwa’s brother John Mwakibe declined speculations that someone could have been behind his brother's disappearance, saying Marwa was a peaceful man and well known in Naivasha.

“My brother was full of life he used to disappear on phone severally but not for a long period of time, we mistook his disappearance linking it to December festive season but a month later we noticed that its unusual of him to go silent for such a period. My mother had even spoken to him early December and asked him to join the family for a holiday trip,” Mwakibe said.

Mwakibe added that they had searched for their brother in Naivasha police stations, hospitals and  mortuary but their efforts had borne no fruit.

“We are concerned for my brother welfare as he was last seen more than a month ago and our efforts to find him have been fruitless,” he said.

Marwa's family has been communicating with several journalists while moving from town to town looking for him but no one seems to have seen him.

It is reported that Police in Naivasha noted that the family reported the incident and promised full support in the search.

The journalist's family now pleads with anyone who has information on Jack Marwa to reach him through the number 0727 920846.
