Raila Asks Youth to Vote Out Jubilee Government

Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga has delved into how the recent win by Donald Trump as United States (US) President-elect has boosted his motivation to run for Presidency.

Speaking during a youth conference in Nyamira, Odinga stated that Trump's win had motivated and given him assurance that he would also beat President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2017 General Election.

He likened the US situation to Kenya noting that the President-elect, who is his age mate, will be taking over from the incumbent Barack Obama (Uhuru's age mate) therefore, the same should happen in the upcoming polls.

"He defeated Clinton, who is my age mate, and will take over from Obama, who is Uhuru’s age mate," he stated.

The Opposition leader further dismissed claims that he was too old to run for office affirming that age should not be a determinant in the race.

“Trump’s victory is a clear indicator that age does not matter. What matters is what you can do for the people,” he affirmed.

He called on the youth to register as voters and turn out in large numbers on election day to help in accomplishing his dream of kicking out the Jubilee government.

Mr Odinga accused the government of various vices such as corruption and police brutality stating that the country would be ruined if Jubilee was allowed to rule for another term.

“Please go and vote out this government. We cannot afford to have it for another five years. Our country cannot go on like this any longer,” he asserted.
